At Battle Creek Montessori Academy, we greatly cherish the partnership between our authorizer Ferris State University and our school community. That partnership has prospered as we both stay true to our mission of developing self-reliant, peaceful, and academically excellent students. Our school’s innovative approach to education wouldn’t be possible without both Ferris State University and our education service provider, Choice Schools Associates. They both provide our school the resources needed to carry out our mission, and Ferris State University has gone further to award our school with a grant aimed at expanding our art program.
This grant helps us provide our students an opportunity to participate in a specials class for the first time in over three years. The awarded amount allows our school to purchase the necessary equipment for art supplies, storage and the tools necessary for an “art opening” at the end of the school-year. We are excited to provide our students the chance to explore various art mediums, artists, and inspirations for their own creations. We believe that students benefit from a sensory-rich, reflective and quiet activity to help manage their emotions and behaviors.
At Battle Creek Montessori Academy, we wear our successes and achievements on our sleeves. We are so proud of our community as we continue to be acknowledged for our excellent student programs. We are well underway with another incredible school year, and want to give thanks to our families and friends at Ferris State University for this grant.
