Mike Coykendall – Board President

Mike is a Logistics Data Division Chief in Logistics Information Service at Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), which is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. Mike is a graduate from Grand Valley State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently working on a Master’s in Public Administration at Western Michigan University. Mike has four years of experience serving as President of the Board of Directors for Grattan Academy in Belding, MI. He also served five years for the City of Belding’s Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) Board, and an additional four years on the City of Belding’s Human Resources Committee. Through his work and Board experience, Mike has developed exceptional communication skills and has gained strong expertise in managing large public sector budgets. Mike is a husband and a father of six children. He and his wife Lisa are both very active and involved in their community and, having adopted three children of their own, they volunteer their time in supporting local foster and adoptive parents as facilitators for both parent advocacy groups and as active members of the Family Attachment Center and Therapeutic Respite (FACTR), a non-profit which provides emotional and educational support to parents and families of adopted children.

Jennifer Beam – Treasurer

Jennifer is a dedicated business professional in the Battle Creek community, with strong expertise in both operations management and business development. She is a graduate of Miller College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is currently working on a Master’s in Business Administration at Davenport University. Jennifer is actively involved in the Battle Creek community, where she serves as the Professional Development Chair for the Battle Creek Area Young Professionals. She has also been involved in organizations such as the Trillium Society, where she assisted students through tutoring and instruction in computer skills, and the Doris Klaussen Development Center, where she served as a supervisor for the Adult Training Program, helping students ages 19-25 with mild to moderate cognitive impairments gain skills in order to achieve enhanced independence through employment. She is an active member of Central Christian Church, where in the past she served as both a mentor for the High School Youth Group and on the church’s Worship Team.

Angela Kreger – Board Director

Angela was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan.  She is actively pursuing her degree in Business Management at Kellogg Community College and works as a Program Analyst for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Battle Creek.  She has been married for twelve years and is a mother to three daughters who are currently enrolled in a local charter school in the Battle Creek area. Angela strongly believes in public school choice and quality education for all children. She has a passion for helping others through her support of numerous charities such as the United Way, St. Jude’s, Locks of Love, the Alzheimer’s Association, March of Dimes and The Red Cross. She is an active member of her church – Battle Creek Friends – and has a passion for cooking and reading and, most importantly, loves spending time with her family.
