Hi my name is Melissa Megill and I am in the Sea Turtle Preschool-Kindergarten room at BCMA! I graduated from Western Michigan University with my bachelors in elementary education and an endorsement in early childhood. This is my second year at BCMA. I am also BCMA’s site liaison for Girls on the Run and am looking forward to another great season this upcoming spring.

I have a dog who thinks she is a small cat, named Dipsy and our class pet (a chinchilla named Pinky Pie). I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible, whether its doing yard work, kayaking, or camping.

Hello, My name is Katrinka Martinez. This is my second year at Battle Creek Montessori Academy, and I am so lucky to be the teacher in the Sea Otter pre-primary classroom. The students in the Sea Otter Classroom are ages 3-6 years old and there are so many exciting things happening this school year.

I have enjoyed working with children for many years as a classroom teacher, child care director and a mother. I have taught early childhood students, elementary students and one year of Middle School. I graduated from Spring Arbor University and did some graduate work there as well.

I am a mother of two grown children and have a new daughter in law as of June when my son married. I also have one granddaughter, Stella, who is 15 months old and so much fun. My daughter, Brittney, is a Graphic Designer and lives in Chicago while my son and daughter in law, Nick and Heather, live near Jackon. My family is very important to me and I spend as much time with them as I can. I also love to read, bowl and be outdoors. Any of these things that I can do with friends and family brings a smile to my face.
