Battle Creek Montessori Academy is a tuition-free kindergarten through eighth-grade public school.
Here, we celebrate children’s natural desire to learn, we encourage them to move at their own pace, and we embrace their unique learning style.
Beginning in the fall of 2018, we will provide bus transportation for students to and from BCMA via hub-style stops throughout Battle Creek.
We offer a full-day, tuition-based preschool program five days a week to children who are age three and potty trained.
Our multi-age classrooms are lead by state and Montessori certified teachers that guide students through long blocks of uninterrupted work time. The Montessori method allows for individualized learning within the classroom.
Battle Creek Montessori Academy will be the choice K-8 school in Calhoun County.
Battle Creek Montessori Academy educates students through Montessori methods and character development leading to intellectual curiosity and academic excellence, developing children who are self-reliant, peaceful, embrace diversity and contribute meaningfully to their community.
Ferris State University (FSU) authorized its first charter school in 1997, and now authorizes 16 schools throughout the state. FSU believes that each academy authorized will have a positive impact on:
- the lives of the children and parents they serve;
- the communities of the families they serve;
- the taxpayers of the State of Michigan;
- and ultimately, the societies of the world.
To accomplish this, each academy must provide an environment to achieve academic excellence by delivering quality programming and instruction for the children it serves. The virtues of character include: the values of freedom, honesty, integrity, and civility, in addition to rigorous accountability to all stakeholders. The virtues of character are a part of our vision for each school academy.
What do Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Princess Diana, and Bill and Hilary Clinton have in common? They were all Montessori parents.
